Agri-produce by nature are perishable items with limited shelf-lives, as result of which farmers are forced to distress-sell at throwaway prices incurring huge losses. Refrigerated storage facilities will ensure that the produces are preserved for longer periods of time and can be available even during off-seasons. This will not only solve the problems faced by our affiliated farmers but also limit the dependence of local suppliers on neighboring states for such facilities which will aid in price stabilization of agri-produce in Nagaland.
